The surgery operates a system a called advanced access. This enables patients to see a doctor the same day or pre-book up to four weeks in advance (depending on availability).
Patients have the right to express a preference of practitioner and we will make a note of this in your medical records. In the case of urgent appointments however we cannot guarantee that you will see your doctor of choice.
Each appointment is for one person and one medical condition only(10mins). Slots are released on a daily basis, booking of appointments the telephone lines open at Monday 8.30am -8pm ,Tuesday ,Wednesday and Thurs & Friday 8.30am 6.30pm (except for Bank Holiday)
Telephone consultations with a doctor are available each day from 11:15 - 12:15. If you feel your problem can be dealt with over the telephone please inform the receptionist.
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
Repeated failure to attend booked appointments not only wastes appointments that could have been used by other patients with an urgent health need but is also a significant waste of our (NHS) resources.
You may be surprised to learn that our patients sometimes waste over 200 appointments per month! We therefore advise you that we monitor patient non-attendance and we will write to you if you miss a booked appointment. If you repeatedly fail to keep booked appointments we may ask you to explain why this has happened or ask you to register elsewhere.
